The GÉANT Association has been formed by re-organising TERENA (the trans-european research and education networking association) and DANTE (the operator of the pan-European data network) under a unified governance structure.
The GÉANT Association supports net:25 with the presentation of international projects and use-cases. At the net:art music and dance performance „near in the distance 2“ artists from Barcelona, Ljubljana, London, New York, Linz and Berlin will be connected via GÉANT. GÉANT supports ACOnet with the realisation of this network performance.
GÉANT is the pan-European research and education network that interconnects Europe’s National Research and Education Networks (NRENs).
The GÉANT Backbone connects over 50 million users at 10,000 institutions across Europe. Operating at speeds of up to 500Gbps, and offering unrivalled geographical coverage, GÉANT remains the most advanced research network in the world.
